Christopher Lirette, originally from Chauvin, Louisiana, currently lives in Newark, New Jersey with his wife, Linda. He teaches at Cornell University, where he received an MFA degree in poetry. He has won awards for his poetry, which is sometimes published. He has also published a few essays. On occasion, he gives readings or otherwise. You can see one of those readings here.
